What can the ARC do for you?
The Animal Resources Center (RRID:SCR_026351), a MSU core facility, is a fully equipped, AAALAC approved laboratory animal research facility with expert technical support, and top-tier animal care to help researchers achieve reliable and reproducible results. The ARC maintains animal housing rooms, observation rooms, and procedure rooms at BSL 1 and 2 containment levels and can support most commonly studied lab animal species.
The ARC can provide services to external companies in the pre-clinical phase or IND-enabling studies.

- Complete service for specialized mouse models from basic research to translational studies, including mouse breeding and colony management for transgenic, knockout, and custom breeding programs
- Advanced housing and husbandry with climate-controlled environments and pathogen monitoring
- Expert support staff including veterinary and technical assistance for breeding, surgery, and infectious pathogen studies
- Capabilities to support small volumes of rats, zebrafish, guinea pigs, and xenopus laevis animal models
