Review your Gradebook setup and student grades for accuracy

1. In your course navigation menu, click Grades.
2. Review scores, missing submissions, and any grades that may still be hidden from students.
3. Check the Total column to see each student’s current course grade (reminder, this is Not accurate unless you have entered 0s).
4. Before making grading changes or preparing final grades, review our Grading Considerations  for important information about how Canvas calculates and displays grades.

How to recover deleted items

1. Open the Home page of your Canvas course.
2. At the end of the course URL in your browser (after the course number), add /undelete and press Enter.
3. Canvas will display recently deleted course content.
4. Find the item you want to recover and click Restore.
5. Return to your course and confirm that the item has been restored.

Note: Not all deleted course content can be recovered using this method.

How to quickly message students based on their assignment status

1. In your course navigation menu, click Grades.
2. Find the assignment and click the three-dot menu next to its name.
3. Select Message Students Who.
4. Choose the group you want to contact, such as students who haven’t submitted yet or scored below a certain score.
5. Enter your message and click Send Message.

Canvas automatically sends the message individually to each student who meets the selected criteria.
