MSU Extension is sensitive to the difficulties that families are faced with and the effects that Alzheimer’s or Cognitive decline has on their lives. We are providing a space for education and information to assist Montanans in the search for answers. Montana’s Alzheimer’s Association is one of the best in the nation at providing information and a link is provided to their resources. Information is usually the best place to start, this webpage provides links to MSU Extension’s resources on Estate and Financial Planning, Caregiving and Children’s Educational programs, along with links to education on Long Term Care options. The Montana State Plan Workgroup, AARP and other state partners provide valuable assistance with taking care of a loved family member. If you have a need that is not answered through any of the provided links, please contact MSU Extension so we may attempt to assist you in finding what resources you need.

Mobile Memory Café and Living Well with Dementia

The MSU Extension Mobile Memory Cafe program will continue this April, bringing social engagement and dementia awareness to communities across Montana.

The Mobile Memory Cafe and Living Well with Dementia initiative offers free, research-informed resources to caregivers and individuals with early-onset Alzheimer's or dementia. Social engagement for people with dementia is important for “living Well with Dementia.” The mobile memory café serves this purpose. Topics covered include prevention, brain health, nutrition, sleep, social activity, and physical health. The program is supported by sponsors, including the Montana Geriatric Education Center, County and Statewide Area Agencies on Aging, and the Alzheimer's Association Montana Chapter.

The program will commence this upcoming April and continue through June.
