Introduction

As outlined in the MRJCON Master Evaluation Plan, assessment of teaching and learning is conducted at multiple levels (university, program, course, and student) to facilitate a comprehensive review of the curricula and their ability to reflect professional nursing standards and guidelines, the needs of the community of interest, and congruency with expected learning outcomes. The Office of Academic Programs conducted the annual program level assessment of the established program learning outcomes and associated exemplars from AY22-23 per policy schedule. This report provides an overview of the assessment process, results, and summary recommendations.

Assesment Process

Assessment of key teaching and learning exemplars was conducted according to the established plan for AY 22-23. In this process, populations of student exemplars were collected from D2L courses, tabulated, and scored against an established benchmark. The exemplars were not regraded. The scored aggregate exemplar source data, exemplar assignment, and associated exemplar grading criteria were reviewed by two independent faculty members to ensure interrater reliability. Reviewer scores less than 6 (individual criterion) or 28 (total alignment score) were prompted for comment and/or recommendations. The assessment findings, including areas where the acceptable performance threshold was not met, were reviewed by UAAC or GAAC for recommendations to individual course groups. Feedback and recommended changes from the course groups were referred to the UAAC/GAAC for approval if needed. The teaching and learning assessment plan was adjusted accordingly for the next assessment cycle. Final reports were posted in course group teams and one drive folders.
