Course Description:
In collaboration with the faculty and clinical preceptor, students will design, manage, and evaluate care to improve health outcomes for a selected population. The clinical immersion practicum will provide a platform to support transformative learning within a selected health care organization. The course is designed to promote integration of previously learned coursework through immersion in the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) role in order to create programs that improve health outcomes.

The clinical immersion practicum will provide a platform to support transformative learning. The course is designed to promote integratons of previously learned coursework through immersion in the Clinical Nursing Leader (CNL) role.
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completing this course, the student will be able to:
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams to design, develop, and implement a capstone activity for improving patient care guidelines/ protocols, clinical practice, patient safety, or quality.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a clinical immersion plan based on the CNL competencies.
- Conduct an interprofessional team meeting incorporating client and family input with the focus to design, coordinate, and evaluate plans of care for a cohort of patients.
- Analyze aggregate data to prepare reports and justify needs for select care improvements.
- Demonstrate the ability to coach, delegate, and supervise healthcare team members in the performance of nursing procedures and processes with a focus on safety and competence.
- Participate in development of or change in policy within the health care organization.

- Create discharge plans for a patient or patient population. (CLO 1,3,5)
