Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) Workshops
May 2-3, 2018
Have you been frustrated with Excel and Access for your data collection needs? Want a free and versatile online database tool? You might want to use REDCap. Learn how to get the most out of REDCap in a series of workshops provided by MSU and the Institute of Translational Health Sciences and hosted by the MSU Office of Research & Economic Development and the Division of Health Sciences.
Presented by Bas de Veerand Ashleigh Lewis of ITHS, all are welcome to attend any combination of sessions (Intro strongly encouraged). Open individual sessions are available to address your specific research projects (research teams encouraged to attend together). More info on training
May 2 Sessions:
- 12-5pm Individual Meetings available - VPR Conference Room (Montana Hall 207)
May 3 Sessions:
- 10am-12pm Introduction to REDCap - SUB Room 168
- The introductory class is geared towards new or novice users of the REDCap system. However, people who want a refresher course are welcome to attend. This class is meant to go through the entire lifecycle of a REDCap project – from initial setup to data entry and finally exporting your data.

- 10am-12pm REDCap Advanced: Ask Me Anything - SUB Procrastinator Theater
- People are building more and more complex projects in REDCap. Learn about REDCap’s
tools for managing these complex projects and ensuring you get the highest quality
data. Topics may include:
- Improving your project’s overview
- User right management
- Data integrity
- Data manipulation
- Attendees are encouraged to ask anything!
