About Summer School

The eXtreme Gravity Institute organizes summer schools for advanced graduate students and for young postdoctoral associates on advanced topics in extreme gravity. The summer schools are organized once every two years in varied locations in Montana and the lectures are given by internationally-recognized researchers.

Neil Cornish part of team awarded $14.5 million to establish center for detecting low frequency gravitational waves.

April 29, 2015–

Nicolas Yunes was awarded the IUPAP General Relativity and Gravitation Young Scientist Prize in 2015.

April 15, 2015–

Kent Yagi received the Fellowship for the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science, which he will take to do a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at Princeton University with Profs. Frans Pretorius and David Spergel.

April 7, 2015–

Nicolas Yunes was named KITP Scholar at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics, Santa Barbara for the years 2012-2015.

April 7, 2015–

XGI Undergraduate Student Devin Hansen was awarded the NSF Graduate Fellowship in 2015.

XGI Postdoc Laura Sampson has been awarded a CIERA Fellowship at Northwestern University.
