Jack Schnepf is the Director of the Center for the Communication of Science at Montana State University and a contemporary artist based in Bozeman, Montana. He graduated from MSU with a BFA in Studio Art, focusing on drawing and painting, and received the 2026 Richard Helzer Bronze Pencil Award.

During his final year, Jack founded and became the first Artist-in-Residence at QCORE, the university's quantum computing research center, and supported the center's development as its executive administrator and program coordinator.

In his final semester, Jack took part in the Undergraduate Scholars Program, where he wrote a research report on art as a driver for innovation, drawing on interviews with leaders in art, science, and economic development. Based on this research, the Vice President for Research and Economic Development invited him to give a talk on art and science and the growing need for interdisciplinary collaboration. Jack delivered the talk as part of the Art+Science Kickoff, an event he planned, which sparked multiple art and science projects.

Jack's artistic practice explores the relationships between art, science, and human perception, drawing inspiration from emerging research, philosophy, and lived experience. His ongoing Entanglement Series is a participatory body of work that uses quantum mechanics as a lens for connecting people and institutions.

Drawing on his experience as both an artist and a university staff member, Jack works to build public trust in and understanding of science, create interdisciplinary engagements that inspire new ways of thinking about emerging research, and broaden the public reach of MSU's work
