Open Rural Teaching Positions in Montana
As a founding organization of the Montana Small Schools Alliance, MSU and the CRRE are committed to supporting small, rural, and remote schools and their communities across the state. As part of our service, we are developing an accessible listing of open rural teaching positions in MSSA member schools. This webpage is a new initiative from CRRE and is currently being launched as a proof of concept. With grant support from the Rural Schools Collaborative, we will expand this resource to include tools that all rural schools will be able to use to share the story of their rural school and showcase the strengths of their community to prospective job seekers.

Turner is located in North Central Montana, twelve miles south of the Canadian border. We are an active rural community that supports education and school activities. The district offers housing that is within walking distance of the school. Turner provides teacher housing/utilities for the first contract year at no cost and only $200 monthly for housing/utilities every year after that.
Applicants must meet the qualifications for appropriate Montana Certification and Endorsement or be in the process of becoming certified. The successful candidate must also pass a background check.

North School is seeking a paraprofessional to work the 2025-2026 school year. This person will work 8 hours per day, $13.90/hr. four days a week(Monday-Thursday, or as the school calendar reflects), accumulating vacation and sick leave hours, along with TRS. Will work in a one room schoolhouse serving grades K-8th with one teacher and one para. Experience is not necessary but is helpful. Must have a high school diploma. Must pass a background check. School hours 8:35 a.m.- 4:15 p.m. North School is 25 miles out of Havre off of Highway 2. Para will be allowed to ride the school bus to and from the school for work. School year starts 8/18/2025 - 5/29/2026.
