Description
This award will recognize one staff member who demonstrates tangible innovation, has a positive and broad impact on the student experience, demonstrates leadership distinguished by role modeling, and embodies the mission of Montana State University (MSU), Montana's Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES) and Extension Service (ES).
Eligibility
A nominee must be a permanent, professional or classified staff member with a 0.5 - 1.0 FTE, with MSU, Montana Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES) or Extension Service (ES).

Selection Criteria
Innovation: How has the nominee furthered current practice, discovered, and/or implemented new procedures? What is significant about the activity of the nominee? Regarding the innovation piece, how has the nominee used sustainability, impact, distinction, and alignment with the university mission?
Each piece of sustainability, impact, distinction, and alignment will be awarded point values as follows, 0-10 points based on the strength of the component:
Sustainability: How broadly might the innovation(s) of the nominee be implemented? What efficiencies were gained through the work of the nominee?
Impact: How has the nominee improved the student's lives in the university community? How far does the influence of the award spread? How has the award winner engaged across the university system and the state of Montana?
Distinction: How has the nominee gone 'above and beyond' expectations and objectives within their job description? How does the nominee take the initiative to distinguish themselves, and/or in other ways, excel among their colleagues?
Alignment: How does the activity of the nominee embody the mission of MSU/MAES/MES?
Award
The award recipient will receive a certificate and cash award.
