Food Preservation

Harvest season is approaching fast, and with that comes numerous opportunities to preserve food--whether you've grown it yourself or purchased from a local grower.  MSU Extension has many resources to guide you in your food preservation journey.

Safety

MSU Extension recommends using only up-to-date, research-tested recipes to ensure a safe product.  Additionally, if you use a dial gauge canner, it is recommended that you test your gauge annually to ensure proper processing.  You can either bring in your dial gauge alone or the whole canner lid to be tested at our office in the Big Horn Center.  If you use a weighted gauge canner, you do not need to test your canner as these don't go out of calibration.

Nutrition

MSU Extension's Buy Eat Live Better program offers many resources related to nutrition including recipes, classes, and more.

Solid Finances Series

The Solid Finances series was a webinar series presented by Extension Specialist Joel Schumacher.  The series covers a wide variety of topics addressing issues such as budgeting, credit management, investments, and so much more.  You can view past presentation recordings and access resources at any time.
