Interactive Workshops
Got an extra hour in your week? Use that downtime to grow your personal and professional skills while meeting new friends. All workshops are interactive and you’ll take away not just knowledge, but tangible tools and resources you can use right away. All workshops are offered at various times and dates throughout the semester to make it easy to fit into your schedule; one-on-one workshops are also available if you can’t make any of the scheduled times.
Professional Connections: How to Ask for Career Directions
Explore how connecting with new people to build relationships can advance your career
and build social capital. Connecting authentically with people involves a positive
attitude, active listening, and a genuine interest in others and is a fantastic way
to get inspired by others and to ask for “Career Directions.” You will explore your
current personal and professional network and get tips on starting a conversation.
You will also explore ways to expand your network with tips for tracking your connections,
following up with them, and making specific asks of your community.
INTRO 2 NACE: Assess Your NACE Career-Readiness Competencies
Career readiness is key to ensuring a successful transition into a career. NACE, The
National Association of Colleges and Employers, has deemed eight competencies critical
to a thriving career: Professionalism, Teamwork, Leadership, Technology, Career &
Self-Development, Critical Thinking, Communication and Equity & Inclusion. Attendees
will take the official NACE Self-
Assessment, brainstorm activities to upskill competencies, and make SMART Goals to
level-up skills before graduation. Attendees will receive a personal NACE card deck,
a great tool for resources on campus.
KNOW YOUR NACE: Decode the Career-Readiness Competencies
Decode how the NACE competencies are universally embedded in resumes, cover letters,
and job listings and how they correspond to lived-life experiences. NACE, The National
Association of Colleges and Employers, has deemed eight career competencies: Professionalism,
Teamwork, Leadership, Technology, Career & Self-Development, Critical Thinking, Communication
and Equity & Inclusion. In this workshop, you will identify the NACE competencies
in an example resume, cover letter, and job listing. If you have your own documents,
you are welcome to bring them! Attendees will receive a personal NACE card deck, a
perfect tool for resume and interview preparation.
Build a Better Budget Workshop
Do you ever feel like your money is running away from you? Would you like to build
a plan to save for upcoming events or needs? Are you interested in exploring different
ways to save? Join this fun and informal budget workshop get started understanding
where your funds are going now, assess your spending and saving, build a plan that
works for YOU, and set GOALS for future success. Don’t let your money (or lack of it)
stress you out!
Plan Your Time - Create a Schedule Fits Your Needs
Remove stress, set goals, get organized, and free up time for yourself by building
a calendar based on your personal needs. We will explore how to organize your school
schedule including class time, homework, tutoring, etc. You’ll also add layers for
personal time, family activities, work, and any other commitments you may have. Bring
your laptop and/orcalendar planner.

Strong Interest Inventory Assessment
Curious about where your interests and skills align with your college and career goals?
Feeling like you need to make an adjustment to your current path? Taking the Strong
Interest Inventory Assessment can be a powerful starting point. The Strong offers
data-driven insight to help you explore new career pathways, degree options, and self-understanding.

One-on-One NACE Career-Readiness Assessment
This assessment is a critical follow-up to the Know Your NACE Workshop, where students
develop apersonal
development plan. Meet one-on-one to assess the eight NACE competencies, receive
targeted feedback, and create goals to strengthen the skills needed for any career
trajectory. This supportive, individualized session empowers individuals to take targeted
steps to be career-ready upon graduation.

Personal Values Assessment
Your personal values are a central part of who you are – and who you want to be. You
are always making values-based decisions – even the bad ones – and by digging deep
and exploring your personal values, you can use them as a guide to make the best choices
in your life and career. This is an engaging and thought-provoking experience that
you can do alone or with a group of your friends and family.

Make it Happen! Opportunity Grants
MSU, Gallatin College, and the Bozeman area are home to hundreds of opportunities for students to engage with each other and the world around them. But we know YOU have great ideas to create something of your own!
Want to start a student club? Want to bring in an outside presenter to talk with your
group? Want to create an event to honor a person, group, or holiday? Want to make
an impact at MSU but you don’t know where to start? Every semester, Forge: Pathways
& Belonging will offer small, one-time grants to students so they can envision an
opportunity to bring communities together and then MAKE IT HAPPEN.
