Ben Wilson and Josey Blazer

Benjamin Wilson & Josey Blazer

ASMSU President & Vice President

Benjamin (Ben) is a 3rd year at Montana State University majoring in Liberal Studies Quaternity and Environmental Economics and Policy. Ben was born in Spokane, Washington, but grew up in Bozeman. In his free time, you can find him skiing, hiking, camping, and fishing. He is currently a Candidate for the Sigma Nu Fraternity and loves to play music in the MSU Symphony Orchestra and One O'Clock Jazz Ensemble. He served as a Senator for the College of Letters and Science last year and is currently an At-Large Senator. While serving on the Employee Pay Review Committee, Equipment Fee Allocation Committee, Curriculum and Programming Committee, Parking Appeals Board, a Liaisonship with the Streamline Bus Service, and being an active leader on the senate floor, he was exposed to the opportunities on campus and the impact of Bobcat voices!

Josey Blazer is a Junior majoring in Marketing and Political Science. She’s from Ennis, MT, and has enjoyed skiing, hiking, and camping in the Bozeman area her entire life. Currently, she’s also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, the Women’s Rugby team, and is involved with admissions and orientation! She’s in her 3rd year with ASMSU, and has been a Senator, a member of the Outreach team, and the Events Marketing associate. As an experienced club leader, one of her top priorities is to make the club funding process easier.

Hello Bobcats! We are Benjamin Wilson and Josey Blazer, and we are thrilled to represent YOU as your ASMSU President and Vice President!

The priorities of our term impact students in all corners of campus. We represent ALL majors on campus and prioritize ALL colleges on Campus.

Our first priority is to make a universal internship center for ALL STUDENTS from ALL MAJORS. We want to make at least one readily available internship opportunity for all and do so by working with university as well as the city, state, and the national organizations and employers. We will use the resources of the student government to improve the experiences of ALL students, not just those who are involved, and connect them with the opportunities of today to prepare them for the careers of tomorrow.

The bobcat way of connection building is getting out into nature. We want to increase outdoor outreach opportunities for students. We want to broaden outdoor horizons, and expand upon existing programs that lead student guided groups into the outdoors!

We support fraternity, sorority, and club engagement both on campus and into the greater community! We will fight to keep accessible funding avenues so they can reach their goals by working with University Administration and ASMSU leadership to make and keep funds accessible.

We want to expand outreach by having events or tabling to discuss student fee usage and breakdown, so students know how their fee dollars are used! If students have more knowledge of their student government, they can have more impact!

We want to invest in more events. We love and support Rail Jam and what it has done for the MSU community. We want to create a new event for the Fall Semester that increases student engagement with the fine arts on campus. We believe that the arts at MSU play a crucial role in Bobcat identity, spirit, and identity. We want to create a new event called CatStock, which offers numerous performances, activities, booths, and food, where students can hang out, meet new people, and have fun!

Regardless of a student's opinion, we want to give them the avenues to share it! 2027 is a legislative year and is a great opportunity for students to learn more about civic engagement and involvement in public discourse. We want to expand the outlets for civic engagement and opportunities for students to ask questions, whether that be through hosting a debate, inviting legislators to campus, or having student information sessions with the ASMSU lobbyist. Whatever a students’ opinion may be, we want to give them the resources for them to share it!

We believe student leadership is teamwork. We believe that it is built upon reaching out and working together with bobcats all over campus. Between the two of us, we have been exposed to many corners of campus, whether that be through classes in various fields of study, Greek-life, sports, or music. We believe that at times campus leadership has only focused on specific groups of students. We want to change that! We value and want to support ALL STUDENTS in the Bobcat community!
